The city of Satu Mare is located in the North-West
Romania, in Transylvania and enjoys a good neighborhood;
to the North, there is the Romanian-Ukraine border and
to the West there is the Hungarian border. This neighborhood
has strongly influenced the development of the city
by the mere fact that, since older times, there have
been good relationships between people belonging to
different nationalities. Thus each of them contributed
to the enrichment of the city inheritance. Multi-Nationality
containing traditions and cultural characteristics of
Romanian, Hungarian, German, Slovak, Ukrainian, Jewish
community, etc., is reflected in the whole cultural
life of the city of Satu Mare
During a very agitated period, when the whole
Europe was still suffering from the Second World War
and maybe as a response to all the existing problems,
Romanian cultural life came into a new and special
bloom Romanian cultural life knew a special bloom. During
that period, already existing philharmonic orchestras,
not so many at that time, developed a lot, but more
importantly, new ones were created. City of Satu Mare
already had a musical tradition. The County Conservatory
existed since 1920 leaded by Adrian Demian, and in 1922
Augustin Ferentiu founded the first "Philharmonic
Society". Out of the desire to maintain and make
the level of the cultural life higher up in Satu Mare,
in 1947 the "Philharmonic Society" is reformed
and shortly after that, became "The state symphonic
orchestra Satu Mare". Of course, this would not have been possible in the
absence of an artistic core willing to achieve this
purpose. This core of artists already existed and has
been encouraged by the fully inspirational examples
provided by artists who had already performed at Satu
Mare even before the official creation of the "Philharmonic
Society", George Enescu and Bela Bartok are just
two of the great artists that we may consider to be
morally responsible for the creation of the Satu Mare
Philharmonic Orchestra, by the example provided by performing
in this city. From 1991 it has the name of the great
Romanian pianist Dinu Lipatti. The "Dinu Lipatti State Philharmonic Orchestra"
not only reached a superior artistic performance, but
it also developed a strong reputation, a really professional
orchestra with a strong position among the consecrated
Romanian and European symphony orchestras.
In Romania, the Satu Mare State Philharmonic Orchestra
has a rich activity: a number of 80 concerts every year
and many recitals. Every autumn, for over 30 years,
we organize the "Zilele Muzicale Satmarene"
festival , and we are proud of announcing the former
participations of numberless guests from the high artistic
elite, among which we may enumerate:Dan Grigore - piano, Romania; Miklos Perenyi - violoncello,
Hungary; LadislauRooth - conductor, Mexico; Nicola Giuliani - conductor,
Italy; Shynia Ozaki -conductor, Japan; Florin Croitoru
-violin, Romania; Cristina Anghelescu-violin,Romania

Ruha", to honour one of the greatest Romanian violinists.
The prize winners used to come back on the Satu Mare
Philharmonic Orchestra stage every time with great pleasure,
always being warmly welcomed by the public and the Satu Mare musicians.
The artistic activity of the Satu Mare State Philharmonic
Orchestra is also complemented by the performances of
the orchestra's members, such as the woodwind sextet,
the original "M&M" duo - harp and glockenspiel
, the "Rudolf" quartet and the "Consonantia"
ensemble led by Dr.Rudolf Fatyol ,violonist , who is also soloist of Satu Mare Philharmonic
Orchestra.
Even abroad, State Philharmonic Orchestra of Satu
Mare has a very intense activity. We should simply take
into consideration the fact that apart from the home concerts musical season, the Satu Mare Philharmonic
has developed, every year since 1999, a micro musical season under
the lead of the conductor Franz Lamprecht in the beautiful auditorium of Tonhale-Dusseldorf.
Besides, during these musical seasons the orchestra
has had the pleasure to perform greatartists: Gary Bennett-tenor, the unique Matthias
Schlubeck - panflute, Katarzina Dondalska - coloratura soprano, Martin Rummel - cello,
Rudolf Fatyol - violin, Dieter Goffing - bariton, Yoo-Kyoung Suck-piano,
Korea, Thilo Dahlmann - bass, Martina Ruping - soprano,
but especially, it had the pleasure to perform with
the four choruses, led by the maestro Franz Lamprecht:
"Chor der Landesregierung Dusseldorf", "Orathorien
Chor Hilden ", "Kammerchor Dusseldorf-Urdenbach"
and "Symphonischer Chor Wupertal". Together
with these choruses the Philharmonic Orchestra of Satu
Mare has accomplished excellent concerts with a very
various repertory: W. A. Mozart-Requiem; G. Verdi-Requiem;
J. Brahms-German Requiem; C. Orff-Carmina Burana; G.
Faure-Requiem; F. M. Bartholdy-Elias and Paulus oratory;
Ludwig van Beethoven-the Ninth Symphony. The close collaboration
with maestro Franz Lamprecht and with his choruses has
facilitated the performing of first auditions at Satu
Mare, like G. Puccini-"Messa di Gloria" ,
F. Liszt - "The Strsbourg-Munster Cathedral Bells"
or the difficult " Alps Symphony " by R. Strauss
. Under the lead of the same conductor the Satu Mare
State Phiharmonic Orchestra has participated, every
summer, for more than 10 years, at the " Schloss
Benrath " Music Festival , Dusseldorf - a beautiful
performance with music, fireworks and play of water
works and lights - where, in the wonderful park of Benrath
Castle the number of spectators is over 10.000.
The abroad activity of the Satu Mare Philharmonic
Orchestra does not include only Germany. As an ambassador
of music, the orchestra has done many tours in all the
European countries such as Salzburg, Prague, Paris,
Rome, Milan, Brussels, Vienna, Strasbourg, Lucerne,
Budapest, Zutphen, Odensk , Paris and even in other

It has participated at conducting master classes
in Csarna(Hungary), Daisuke Soga(Japan), Vienna (Austria),

Satu Mare Orchestra also had the same title at Valenzano

3 years.
